Profile of the Controller of Examinations

With a humble beginning as a pre-university college on the auspicious 12th July 1957, NGM College has over the last five decades blossomed into a premier post graduate teaching and research institution in Tamilnadu, attaining the coveted Autonomous status in 1987.  It is a co-educational ISO 9001-2000 certified, UGC & AICTE recognized institution, affiliated to Bharathiar University, Coimbatore.  In 2007, it was one of the 7 institutions in Tamilnadu to be accredited with
‘A’ Grade by NAAC.

With the advent of autonomy, it became incumbent on the institution to assume many of the responsibilities and functions of a typical university.  Consequently, a few academic bodies had to be set up: one of them was the office of COE.

To manage all matters relating to the Examination System, a separate body called the Examination Office under the control of a full-time CONTROLLER OF EXAMINATIONS has been constituted.

The Examination Office consists of a full-time Controller of Examinations, One Office Superintendent, One Programme Developer,  One Programmer, 6 Clerk-cum-computer operators and two Office Assistants.  The Examination Office is now functioning in a centrally located building in the College Campus.

The Examination Office is equipped with 8 computers, 8 dot matrix printers, one HP machine (4 in one), two Digital Copy Printers, 2 Copiers and one Hi-tech IBM Server one ultra fast line Printer.

CONTROLLER PROFILE :

Since its inception in 1987 COE’s Office was headed by Dr. K.A. Gundu Rao, who had just retired as HOD of  Physics. In 1992, Dr. Gundu Rao was succeeded by Dr. V. Radhakrishnan, then, working as COE in Gobi Arts & Science College.  He is no stranger to this college, having worked in this college for 29 years and retired as HOD of Economics.  Dr.V. Radhakrishnan continues to be the COE since 1992.
